Post wrestling season decline

During wrestling season, one has to consistently stay on weight and diet. After wrestling season wrestlers tend to pig out and over eat because there are no weigh ins to look forward soon, so why not?

My personal experience with this "post season pig out" lasted for about 2 to 3 weeks. I had no control over my diet at all and I gained a total of 7 pounds. I had noticed the fat pig that I had become during my last couple days of pigging out. I was finally fed up with being fat and flabby and decided to go back on my diet.

My folly was that after season instead of just binge eating, I decided to go all out. Now I have to redo all of the work I put into my body. There is no one else to blame except myself now it is time to start my work out grind again... well at least until I lose enough fat to be satisfied with my body, then I think I will be able to binge eat.

My summer fitness program

During the summer of 2014, I went on my own diet and exercise plan. I was sick of being flabby and it was my personal goal to get a six pack. I had done some research  on physical fitness and dieting previously, but I had never actually started a diet.

Image result for dietMy summer diet consisted of eating a low amount of carbs, eating a high amount of protein, and abstaining from eating any sweets. In all honesty  I was somewhat crazy when it came to eating fats. I wouldn't eat any meats that had more than one gram of fat per serving. the only fats that I did eat were from avocados and nuts.

Here is an example of a meal plan for a day.

Breakfast:1/2 cup of black beans, a three egg white omelet, a small can of tuna, and some carrots.
2nd meal: chicken breast and vegetables
Lunch: turkey wrap
4th meal: an apple, and some more tuna
Dinner: a salad with little salad dressing and chicken or turkey

Along with eating well, I also started working out a lot. I went on runs often, did many push ups, and many planks. A simple workout routine would include a 30 minute jog with 10 wind sprints, 100 push ups, 100 crunches, and last of all 4 sets of 1 minute planks.

I started to notice results within the first couple days and within about a week or two my friends and others around me started to notice my new appearance as well, and within 3 to 4 weeks I had accomplished my goal of getting a six pack. I was so happy, the satisfaction of having a good looking body was about as good as eating deliciously indulgent foods, so I was able to keep maintain my diet for quite some time.

If you were like me and you want to change the way your body looks you can go on a fitness program of your own. Anyone can do it, but remember you have to push yourself to achieve this goal, it is not just going to be given to you, YOU HAVE TO EARN IT IF YOU WANT IT.

cutting weight for wrestling

Wrestling is an intense contact sport that has been around since ancient Roman times. The sport is won when one wrestler pins the other's shoulder blades to the mat or by points, but wrestling is not only about the wrestling its also about the intense grind and making weight. Wrestling is based on a weight class system, so this means that a lot of the time wresters are pressured to drop to the lowest weight class possible for their body.

To cut weight wrestlers use a variety of techniques such as dieting, laxitives, sweating and even spitting. These techniques minus the dieting are dangerous and unhealthy because they dehydrate your body. Depriving yourself of water can cause fatigue, give you migranes, deflate your muscles, and stunt your growth.

Now dieting is healthy and everyone should try to keep their body healthy and strong, but crash dieting is not healthy and can be very dangerous. Crash dieting is when you consume very little calories, which causes you to lose a lot of weight from fat and muscle mass. Your body is not supplyed with enough calories to grow so you're growth is also stunted.

Losing your excess fat is healthy and something many americans should start thinkning about, but when you deprive your body of the necessary nutrients it requires this can cause many problems.

Distractions

If you are like me then you probably get distracted easily. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and I used to have an extremely difficult time concentrating, I couldn't focus on anything! However, after a while my symptoms began to fade away and I started to calm down.

Even though my ADHD has seemed to have gone away, sometimes distractions can get in the way of me doing homework; for example Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. The easiest and fastest way for me to get my homework done is to remove anything that could distract me, that means that my phone is put away and I don't have any other tabs open other than what is homework related.

Distractions don't only hinder you doing your homework, distractions can get in the way of anything. That is why it is important to remove all distractions whenever you set a goal for yourself. you can accomplish almost anything if you really focus on the goal.

Response to Obama's free community college propasal

President Barack Obama has proposed that the government pay for two years of community college tuition for every American with an interest in progressing toward a degree and sufficient academic marks (BBC.com). By making community college free we, as Americans, will have a higher percentage of an educated population. With a higher educated population our country will progress/advance forward and surpass countries like China, academically.

Free community college will also allow people to save up their money, so they can earn a degree from a state college or a UC school. This will increase the percentage of a specialized work force, which will overall help our country advance forward.

This proposal is not something that is ridiculous or far fetched, President Obama says "Its something that we can accomplish and its something that will train our workforce so we can compete with anybody in the world."
